I think that with the first interview looking back on it
that he made some good points. I understand
what he means by always striving for more and never being satisfied. I can see that putting in a little extra
fight will help be more successful in the long run.
With this interview I asked questions that I feel will be
most helpful moving forward and looking to the future.
Question 1: What, do you feel, is the most effective means
to obtaining customer feedback?
Answer 1: He answered very direct and decisively surveys via
email. This process helps get a large
amount of survey out to many customers at once and stands a good chance of
getting accurate feedback, because the customers are more relaxed not being face
to face with someone.
Question 2: What is the next step for you or how does your
business grow from where you are now?
Answer 2: This question got him to pause for a minute and
really think. He settled on streamlining
and improving overall production at the current store. They recently, in the last few years, added
other stores to different cities and right want to focus on getting optimum
productions on what they currently have.
Question 3: What does he consider to be the best way to gain
customer retention?
Answer 3: With this answer he said that it starts with
honesty and not just excellent, but consistent customer service. This part is what caught my attention. Anyone can have a good day where you deliver
excellent customer, but it is the ability to do it consistently and every time
that keeps bringing the customer back for more.
I did feel more comfortable with what questions I wanted to
ask. Being that I work with him every day
I was very comfortable interviewing him.
This is also something that I have spoken with him about during the
semester. My level of comfort in
speaking with him was obviously very high.
My level of comfort with the types of questions and the ability to know
why I was asking the questions is what stood out to me of how I had grown in
the class.
I like the approach you took on asking your questions. It is also really helpful that you are comfortable with who you interviewed, it definitely makes it easier and gives you better responses. I also really like that he didn't just say customer service but consistent customer service helps with customer retention.

Hi William,
ReplyDeleteI think you did great job on this assignment. The questions you asked your entrepreneur was well thought out and are very solid questions. I love the part about striving for more and not being satisfied. I think when you love something and you want to see something grow, the tendency to never be satisfied can happen.
In your last paragraph, you mentioned that you are more comfortable asking questions and interviewing. I think through this class, like you, I have become more comfortable as well. Its great to see both of us becoming better at things like this!
Overall, great job and you can check out my post at http://flatpeak.blogspot.com/2016/04/very-short-interview-part-2.html
